In 2017, Tyson Percival was a mechanical designer at a local fabrication company. However, inspired by his long-standing passion for robotics and automation, he struck out on his own to form Sync Robotics.
Tyson’s vision was to leverage his knowledge in the machine tool industry to build bespoke robotic machine tending cells. Yet, soon after incorporating Sync Robotics, he realized that the broader manufacturing market was calling out for innovative, tailored solutions to solve a wide range of problems.
Tyson quickly secured the backing of Tyler Boulley and John Sharpe as investors. Shortly after, Sync Robotics secured its first purchase order for a robotic solution for the timber industry. This contract allowed the company to grow and expand its engineering team, adding to Tyson’s expertise.
In 2020, Tyler joined the company to run the sales department. The following year, John came on board to run operations.
In recent years, Sync Robotics has expanded into a larger manufacturing space, implemented a company Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool to drive greater efficiency, and diversified into several different market segments. With increased traction across several key markets, and further manufacturing space expansion in Kelowna and subsidiary location in Vancouver, the future looks bright.
